The Klamath Crisis Center and community partners are sponsoring the Domestic Violence Community Impact Workshop. January 27th from 9:30am until 3:30pm at the Occupational Care Clinic classroom at 2633 Crosby Avenue. This is a free workshop and there is no cost for attendance. Any donations will be given to the American Heart Association Go Red for Women to fund education and awareness of heart disease. Come see local stores latest fashions in red! Klamath & Lake Community Action Services is proud to be sponsoring a one-day poverty workshop with two of Dr. Donna Beegle’s most popular sessions; Poverty 101 and Breaking Barriers. This workshop will be held on March 11, 2010 at OIT in the College Union Auditorium. An information sheet and the registration form are available on our website www.klcas.org. One registration form per person, please! There is a February 16th deadline for registering in order to have your lunch included in the registration cost. If you register after February 16th, you will need to bring your own lunch or purchase lunch at the OIT cafeteria or Subway. Attendees will need to stop at the OIT Visitors Information hut on Campus Drive to pick up a visitors parking pass and park in the large lot to the left of the shack. Be there early to get a spot. You can start saving as soon as you receive your membership card, in about one week. The Klamath County Library is starting a new program for families every Tuesday at 6:30pm. The program is called Family Night and if your family suffers from isolated, distracted evenings in front of the TV, pack everyone up and head to the library! families are encouraged to bring their picnic dinner or takeout food to the library for a creative program of stories, crafts, songs an activities. Meet other parents and share relationship building activities. The first Family Night of each month, stories will be read in Spanish. Each following week, stories will be read in English. International Student Exchange Program. Host families can choose students from countries like Germany, Japan, Spain and more! Students 15 to 18 years of age would live with host families while attending local high school and learn about American culture and improve their English language abilities.
